Meet Jodi Utter - Your Trusted Doula

WELCOME!  I am so happy that you are exploring Postpartum Support. It is important  to your recovery as a new mom and for your whole family as you transition into having a new baby in your home.  My goal, as your doula, is for you to experience a positive and supported postpartum.  

While supporting your family, I will always provide you with the most updated guidelines for feeding, sleep and education. I will encourage you to rest and recover from the monumental task of giving birth, while lovingly caring for your new little one.

My education and experience is vast.  I have worked with hundreds of happy families all across the Boston area and have recently moved to the Cooperstown, NY area.  My training as a nurse, certified postpartum doula, lactation educator, certified sleep consultant, childbirth educator and certifiedbirth doula allow me to bring the very best of each area into my practice.

Daytime Visits..

During my scheduled daytime visits I will tidy up the kitchen and family room, wash/dry/fold newborn laundry, help with nursery organization and run errands/do grocery shopping. For my breastfeeding mothers I provide lactation education and support as a Lactation Educator. For my mothers choosing to bottle feed their newborns I will teach you all about bottle feedings, including product recommendations and paced bottle feeding instruction. We will discuss pumping and milk storage guidelines when indicated. Education around newborn care, hygiene, soothing techniques and sleep will be part of our daily conversations.

I also provide overnight postpartum support in the hospital for families, allowing partners to return home for sibling/animal care or to get a complete nights sleep.

As the weeks of your support progress, I hope to work myself out of a job!  Your confidence and skills will grow and you will be ready to take flight as a new parent.

DAYTIME SUPPORT - 4 hour sessions $30/hr
