Childbirth Education is crucial in providing you the information needed to help you during labor and delivery. This class has its foundation in CAPPA Childbirth Education principles, coupled with Evidence Based Birth. I provide a thorough curriculum that covers the final trimester through the early postpartum period. Upon completion of this class you will have the knowledge and tools needed to enter into labor with confidence!
The value of meeting privately in your home allows for plenty of freedom to ask questions and practice positions and comfort measures that will help you cope with labor. Class time is 5 hours and both partners are requested to be present. Cost $300
New parents are handed their tiny newborn to take home upon discharge from the hospital. It’s at this moment, or very shortly after that families start to think…….NOW WHAT?! In my Newborn Care Class you will learn all the answers to your many questions. How do I feed my baby? How much do I feed my Baby? Will I ever sleep again? What if my baby starts to cry? What swaddle works best? How do I bathe and diaper my baby? What are the best products to have on hand when we get home from the hospital? Upon completion of this class you will feel more confident and capable of caring for your newborn during the first few months of their life! This class is offered privately in your home. Approximate length is 2 hours. Cost $150
If you are planning to breastfeed, you will want to take this class! This class is designed to teach you everything you need to know about breastfeeding your newborn. We will review the benefits of breastfeeding, understanding the components of breastmilk, supply and demand, all about the latch, nipple care as well as breastfeeding positions that go beyond the traditional. There will be time to answer all of your questions! Some questions new parents have are:
How Often Do I Breastfeed?
How Long Should Baby Be On the Breast?
How Do I Know if Baby is Getting Enough Milk?
I will teach you burping techniques as well as review some of the challenges that might arise. We will discuss supplementing, pumping and partner involvement, and I will make suggestions for setting up nursing stations in your home.
Upon completion of this class you will be fully informed and more knowledgeable about all things breastfeeding. This class is offered privately in your home. It is approximately 2 hours. $150
This class is designed especially for mothers that are choosing to bottle feed their babies from the start. In this class you will learn everything you need to know about the options for which bottles are best for a baby, what formulas are recommended, how to pump if you’re intending to use breastmilk as well as cleaning bottle/pump parts, proper guidelines for storing breastmilk and proper guidelines for mixing and storing formula. You will come away from this class being fully informed and knowledgeable about all things bottles/pumps/breastmilk and formula! I teach this class privately in your own home and it is approximately 2 hours. $150
This class is perfect for second time parents or a family not using a birth doula. I will meet with you virtually or in person to answer your questions about your pregnancy, labor, and birth. I will also help you build a birth preference plan and registry list! This class is approximately 2hrs. $150
This class will help prepare expectant grandparents for their new and important role!
Learning about the newest baby equipment and understanding the advances made in newborn care, breastfeeding/bottles, sleep, playtime and more will help grandparents in supporting their adult offspring as families prepare to meet their new family member. Cost $150
